Frequently Asked Questions
What is PyLadies Berlin?
PyLadies is an international mentorship group for marginalized genders, such as but not limited to non-binary people, trans people, and women in tech, with a focus on helping our community become active participants and leaders in the Python open-source community. All skill levels are welcome!
What is our Gender Policy?
We believe knowledge is for everyone. At the same time, our events primarily aim to empower women and gender minorities in the tech community.
As a result, if you don’t identify as part of either one of these, we request you to be aware of this situation and make your presence discrete, e.g., by coming with a woman or a person from a gender minority to ensure gender balance, and consider that you are not heard more or taking more space than others in discussions and question sections
How often do you have events?
We do monthly events, and are mostly in-person. In some specific cases, we might have additional events.
I am starting, can I attend the events?
Yes!, everyone is welcomed, independently of their level. In most sessions, we have different level talks, so you will be able to follow the contents.
How can I help the community?
In case you have time, you can help us by being a mentor, and also with the organization of our events. Let us know!. You can check our Organizers Documentation here.
Do you have any resources on the gender issues in tech?
Yes!, you can check our Resources section to learn more.

Our Meetup
In our monthly Meetup you can look forward to workshops and talks on various Python topics, e.g. from the field of software development or data science. In addition, we cover basic topics in our setup events that will make your start with programming with Python easier. You can find and join upcoming events on our Meetup group.
We do have varying levels in different meetups from novice to expert in specific topics. We often start our events with a 10 minute “Non-coding superpower” talk because we believe (tech) life is much more than coding!
Call for Speakers
We always welcome new interesting topics that you want to share with the Python community ranging from a short 10min presentation of a specific framework to an all-day workshop or a presentation of your very own Python project. Reach out to us via Email or Slack.
